Center for Sociocultural Sport and Olympic Research (Day 2)

California State University - Fullerton’s Center for Sociocultural Sport and Olympic Research will host its annual on-campus conference March 14-15, 2024. This conference will feature a keynote by leading race, gender and sport scholar Dr. Akilah Carter-Francique. Her globally recognized scholarship centers the experiences of Black women within collegiate sporting and exercising spaces, as well as broader understandings of race within sport and physical culture. Her keynote, “Forged With Purpose: The Olympic Legacy in the Era of DEI,” will be from 2-4 p.m.

The Center for Sociocultural Sport and Olympic Research (CSSOR)  is located at the California State University, Fullerton. Its mission is to promote education and research concerning sport and the Olympic Games in their broadest cultural, social and political dimensions.
